Bracken Bruiser
The bracken bruiser is the perfect organic method for the control of bracken.
This towable implement stops bracken from encroaching into farmland and other grasslands.
Safe and easy to operate, the Bob1520 bracken bruiser roller will tackle the weeds by crushing them, diminishing new growth and spread.
The bracken bruiser works by bashing or crushing the weeds, causing their sap to bleed and the rhizomes to be starved of nutrition.
The result is a much weaker regeneration of the bracken as it cannot replenish itself by taking nutrients back down the stem.
This method of weed control can be done up until late July.
The best results are achieved when the fronds have fully opened, and the plants have spent the most energy.
Later bashing is still beneficial although the effect will be less, as the plant will have begun to store nutrients.
In rocky and rough terrain, it is advisable to do this work early before the cover becomes too dense and the ground is difficult to navigate.
This work can be repeated later in the year if needed.
Alongside the Bracken Bruiser, we also offer the Weed Wiper, ideal for targeted application of herbicides on taller weeds.
