Sheep Snacker
A sheep snacker is a tow-behind sheep feeder and mobile livestock feed dispenser that automatically drops measured amounts of feed for sheep while being pulled by an ATV, UTV, tractor, or similar vehicle. It provides a faster, more efficient alternative to manual bag feeding, saving time and reducing labour on farms.
Unlike stationary feeders, a sheep snacker delivers feed evenly across paddocks with minimal effort. Its mobility allows farmers to feed animals in multiple locations without moving the flock, improving efficiency and reducing crowding. For a detailed comparison, see our Sheep Snacker vs Manual Feeding Comparison article.
Key Advantages of Using a Sheep Snacker
- Efficiency: Sheep snackers, as mobile livestock feeders, save time and labour by delivering feed directly across paddocks, streamlining feeding operations and reducing manual work.
- Customisation: Many models offer customizable feeding rates and portion sizes to suit the specific needs of your livestock.
- Mobility: Sheep snackers are highly mobile and can easily be transported around the farm, allowing farmers to feed animals in multiple locations without requiring them to move to a central feeding point.
- Versatility: Trailed feeders can be used to feed both sheep and cattle, making them ideal for mixed livestock operations.
Characteristics of the TF350 Sheep Snacker
- Large Capacity: Holds substantial amounts of feed, perfect for larger herds, reducing refill frequency.
- Minimised Soil Compaction: Designed with large flotation tyres, to evenly distribute weight and protect your pastures.
- Weather Resistance: Built to withstand harsh conditions to ensure reliable feeding all year-round.
- Reduced Animal Stress: This mobile feeder reduces crowding compared to stationary feeding systems, promoting calmer animals

Sheep Snacker TF350 Overview
The Chapman TF350 Sheep Snacker is a towable sheep and livestock feeder designed for ATVs, UTVs, tractors, and similar vehicles. Ideal for open fields, this feeder features 300mm ground clearance and comes standard with flotation tyres that minimise soil compaction. Optional oversized wheels are available for enhanced performance on muddy and rough terrain.
Constructed from durable galvanised steel, the TF350 is built to withstand challenging farm conditions. Its advanced electronic feeding system delivers consistent and precise feed, making it an efficient and reliable solution for feeding sheep and other livestock.
What the Sheep Snacker Does
The TF350 sheep snacker replaces manual bag feeding by accurately dispensing feed in amounts ranging from approximately 0.5 kg to 2 kg per drop. Feed is released every 2.4 seconds (around 25 drops per minute), with spacing determined by the towing vehicle’s speed.
Feed amounts are set using manual controls, and distribution can be monitored either manually or via the ATV-mounted digital counter. The system allows you to program a target number of drops (in multiples of five) and stops once the preset amount is reached, making feed management faster and more consistent.
For even greater control and efficiency, the TF350 features an advanced electronic drive system.
Electronic Drive
The TF350’s robust electronic drive system is reliable, with minimal moving parts to reduce wear and lower maintenance requirements. All components are IP67-rated to resist water and dust ingress, ensuring dependable operation in harsh field conditions.
A backlit display provides clear visibility in low-light environments while consuming minimal power when idle.

Optional Attacthments for Our Sheep Snacker Feeders
Nudge Bar Attachment for Sheep Snacker
The nudge bar is designed to gently steer livestock away from the feeder, minimising the risk of damage to animals and equipment. It enhances safety during feeding by providing a physical barrier that encourages animals to maintain a respectful distance.
Oversize Tyres for Sheep Snacker Feeder
Upgrade to larger 25x13x9” tyres for improved flotation and traction on soft, uneven, or muddy terrain. These oversized tyres reduce soil compaction and help your feeder navigate rough ground more easily, protecting your pasture while maintaining feeding efficiency.
Hopper Extensions to Increase Capacity
Extend your Sheep Snacker’s feed capacity by adding hopper extensions, increasing volume by approximately 250 litres. This means fewer refills during feeding runs, saving time and effort on larger farms or when feeding bigger herds.
Twin Axle Upgrade for Enhanced Stability
Replace the standard single axle with a twin axle setup, which offers superior load distribution and stability on uneven terrain. Complete with mudguards, this option improves handling and reduces wear on tyres and suspension components.
Additional Control Box
An extra control box with complete wiring operates the Sheep Snacker from multiple towing vehicles. This is ideal for farms with several ATVs or tractors, ensuring seamless control no matter which vehicle you use.
Road Legal Sheep Snacker Option
Complies with road traffic regulations, featuring LED lighting, suspension axles, and 20.5x8x10” tyres for safe and legal transport on public roads. This upgrade enables the feeder to move between locations without additional trailers or permits.
