Max Truck Power Barrow
Max Truck, the Power Barrow for landscapers, ground workers, builders, and tree surgeons.
The max truck is a 4WD power barrow that is ideal for moving building and landscaping materials over almost any terrain. Only 710mm wide, this compact machine can access the back of houses and go through garden gates to work hand in hand with micro diggers. It’s also available in a fully electric version — the EGO Max Truck electric model.
Max Truck Attachments:
The Max power barrow can be fitted with a full range of accessories, such as the flatbed for moving paving slabs, skip extensions for holding more volume, a ball hitch for towing, and turf tyres to reduce ground pressure and protect prestigious lawns. In recent years, woodland owners and tree surgeons have invested in these powered wheelbarrows to speed up the removal of timber, logs, branches, or brash.
Powered by the Honda 160cc GXV commercial grade 4-stroke engine for excellent performance, this machine will travel over obstacles, climb up steps, and up to 30° inclines, fully loaded. Its 365kg capacity allows the machine to shift three times more materials than a manual wheelbarrow and typically twice as much as a tracked dumper when accounting for speed of operation.

Remember, operate the engine at maximum revs during use, without the choke engaged. To stop the engine, set the lever to Stop.

Case Study: Max Truck in Action
During an outbuilding demolition project, Earth Moving Services Ltd, Wiltshire utilised one micro excavator alongside a Max Truck.
Details of Case Study:
- Distance from excavation site to tip point approx. 25M through a narrow alleyway.
- The route travelled by the machine followed an ‘S’ shape from the back garden into the alleyway as designated by the wooden boards used to protect the lawn.
- The total amount of hardcore material shifted in 7 ½ hours was equivalent to more than a six-wheel grab lorry load with some material left over after the grab lorry had loaded.
Max Truck Tip Cycles:
The engine remains idling while being loaded by a micro excavator and runs at full throttle during travel.
- Approximately 45% of the time is spent in 3rd gear when travelling loaded to the tip site.
- Approx 5% time in 1st gear turning out of the alleyway to tip the load.
- Around 50% of the time is spent in reverse gear when going back to the hardcore stockpile to be loaded by my micro excavator.
- Fuel consumption during this task: 0.46L/per hour.
- Since this Case Study (May 2015), Stephen Trott of Earthmoving Services has been so pleased with the Max truck that he is on his second machine (fitted with twin wheels).
