SCH Chain Harrow
The SCH Chain Harrow is a versatile agricultural implement suitable for a variety of tasks, from farm and equestrian applications to smallholdings and large field maintenance. With four models available, ranging from 4 feet to 8 feet in width, this harrow offers flexibility to meet different needs. The 3-way trailed unit, such as the 3WCH5 & 6, is particularly popular due to its ability to be configured in three different ways, providing optimal adaptability for various tasks.
Chain Harrow Build
The chain harrow build utilizes metal chains or sturdy, flexible steel tines, forming a large rectangular or square shape attached to a frame. Dragging these chains or tines, often spaced apart, across the ground achieves various applications.
Chain Harrow Applications
A chain harrow serves multiple purposes, including soil aeration, manure spreading, moss removal, and arena surface grading. It can be trailed behind an ATV or mounted on a tractor, it provides flexibility for the user.
Seedbed Creation:
Harrowing the ground breaks up soil clods, levels the surface, and creates a fine, even seedbed, ready for planting. Additionally, it prepares the ground for optimal seed germination and growth.
Pasture Maintenance:
Chain harrows effectively spread manure, fertilize the ground, and encourage grass growth in pastures. By promoting grass health, they contribute to livestock nutrition and overall pasture productivity.

SCH Chain Harrow CH8 - 8 Ft width (Large Mat)
This unit is designed to work seamlessly with compact tractors of 18Hp or more, offering versatility for various tasks. Their purpose includes pulling thatch and dead grass from paddocks, lifting vegetation, and levelling and preparing seedbeds.
The standard ring effortlessly fits over a 50mm ball hitch, and for added flexibility, you can easily attach an optional ball hitch.
3WCH6 - 6 Ft width (3-Way Model)
These models are easier to pull than conventional units. They offer flexibility by allowing them to be pulled in three different ways to achieve the desired result.
Pulling this harrow in one direction makes the tines protrude more, creating a vigorous, aggressive application.
Switching the towbar to the other end reduces the protrusion of the tines in a trailed position, resulting in less penetration. This setting facilitates smoother operation.
Turning the unit upside down enables light raking and leveling of grassed areas or reseeding.
The standard ring fits over a 50mm ball hitch.
3WCH5 - 5 Ft width (3-Way) Model
The 3WCH5 model has the same features as the 3WCH6 (6 Ft version detailed above) but is a 5 Ft wide mat.
MCH - 4 Ft width (Mini Chain Harrow)
This small unit is suitable for lawn tractors of 15Hp and above, for removing dead vegetation from lawns, paddocks, and large grassed areas.
This implement is suitable for seedbed preparation, levelling the ground, and covering the seeds. It can also be used for the rejuvenation of horse arenas and race tracks.
